Audible Warning Device: Description and Operation
"Lights On" Warning Chime
The "TAW" fuse supplies battery voltage to the "lights ON" input of the electronic time and alarm control module with the light switch in "PARK" or
"HEAD." Battery voltage is sensed by the "door open" input of the electronic time and alarm control module at all times unless any door is opened,
closing the door jamb switch and grounding the circuit. If the "lights ON" input senses battery voltage and the door input senses ground, the electronic
time and alarm control module will sound the warning chime continuously, indicating that the lights have been left ON.
"Fasten Belts" Warning Chime
The safety belt switch is open if the safety belt is buckled. If the electronic time and alarm control module detects ground at terminal 10 (safety belt
input), the module will sound the warning chime six times and illuminate the "FASTEN BELTS" indicator until the belt switch is open again, indicating
that all safety belts are attached properly.
"Key-In Ignition" Warning Chime
With the key in the ignition, the key-in ignition switch closes and supplies battery voltage to terminal 19 (key-in ignition input) of the electronic time and
alarm control module. If any door is opened, grounding terminal C259/5 (door open input) of the electronic time and alarm control module, while
terminal 19 (key-in ignition input) has battery voltage, then the warning chime will sound continuously, indicating that the key has been left in the
ignition.
