5. With the throttle valve held as shown, remove the locating pin with a magnet and then remove the shift-down plug, and the throttle valve primary
spring.
6. Remove the throttle valve, then remove the secondary valve spring and clips.
NOTICE: Count the number of clips that were removed and make note of it Fluid pressure will vary depending upon the number of clips
installed.
Inspection
NOTICE: Do not use shop towels to wipe any parts of the valve body. Even small particles of lint can cause valve body malfunctions.
1. Inspect the front upper valve body, valves, cylinders, and check balls for excessive wear or damage.
2. Check for smooth rotation and sliding action between valves and cylinders.
3. Check for clogs in oil holes/passages.
4. Check springs for damage, rust, or collapsed coils.
