10. With the primary regulator valve sleeve held in place, use a magnet to remove the primary regulator valve sleeve retainer.
11. Remove the primary regulator valve sleeve, primary regulator valve plunger, primary regulator valve spring and primary regulator valve.
Inspection
1. Inspect each spool valve carefully for scratches, ridges, damage and wear.
2. Insert each valve in its valve body bore and check for smooth rotation and sliding.
3. Inspect the valve body for damage and wear of each valve hole bore and for clogging of oil passages.
4. Inspect the valve body plate for damage and wear. Also check for damaged check balls.
5. The coil outer diameter and free length of each valve spring should be as listed:
NOTICE: If valve spring measurements are not as specified, replace the spring.
