Camshaft Gear/Sprocket: Service and Repair
CAMSHAFT PULLEY REMOVAL
1. Remove the timing belt cover.
2. Turn the crankshaft and align the timing mark on the front housing and the arrow at "2" on the camshaft pulley.
3. Loosen the tensioner lock bolt.
4. Pry the tensioner outward as far as possible from the timing belt and temporarily tighten the tensioner lock bolt. This will relieve tension on the
belt.
NOTE: Be careful not to let any grease, oil or water get on the timing belt. Never forcefully twist, turn inside out or bend the timing belt.
5. Remove the timing belt from the camshaft pulley and place it out of the way.
6. Remove the camshaft pulley lock bolt using a screwdriver to prevent the camshaft from turning.
7. Remove the camshaft pulley.
