Oil Pump: Service and Repair

NOTE: On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.

1. Remove radiator cap and drain radiator coolant.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove timing belt.
4. Remove oil pan as outlined under Oil Pan.
5. Remove oil strainer and baffle.
6. Support front axle with transmission jack.
7. Remove three front axle housing mounting bolts.
8. Remove left front bushing for axle housing mount.
9. Lower front axle housing.

10. Remove both gusset plates.
11. Remove transmission undercover.
12. Remove engine undercover.
13. Remove power steering pump and bracket.
14. Remove timing belt pulley.
15. Remove oil pump mounting bolts and oil pump.
16. Reverse procedure to install.
17. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
