Spark Plug: Service and Repair
CAUTION: Do not attempt any maintenance on spark plugs if engine is hot.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Carefully remove the high-tension leads.
3. Use compressed air to blow away any dirt or debris from around the spark plug hole.
4. Check that spark plug socket fits squarely on the spark plug and then remove the spark plug.
INSTALLATION
Gap: 0.027 - 0.031 inch (0.7-0.8 mm)
1. Install the spark plug (NGK BKR5E) into the cylinder head.
Tighten spark plug to 11 - 17 lb ft (15 - 23 Nm).
2. Reconnect the high-tension leads.
3. Reconnect the neg~tive battery cable.
