Fuel Rail: Service and Repair
Installation
WARNING: Fuel is explosive. When working on fuel system parts, make sure to supply adequate ventilation to the work area. Do not smoke
and keep sparks and open flames away.
INSTALLATION
1. Install and tighten two bolts for the pressure regulator.
2. Install and tighten the pulsation damper.
3. Install two injector insulators.
4. Install the fuel distributor to the injectors.
5. Install the four injector fuel distributor clips.
6. Install the two bolts to the fuel distributor and tighten.
7. Connect the fuel hose to the pressure regulator.
8. Connect the fuel hose to the fuel distributor
9. Position the plenum chamber gasket.
10. Install the plenum chamber.
11. Install and tighten the three nuts and bolts for the plenum chamber.
12. Install the vacuum hose to the vacuum pipe.
13. Install the heater inlet hose at the elbow.
14. Install the bottom bolt to the idle speed controller bracket.
15. Connect the electrical connector to the idle speed controller.
16. Connect the hose for the idle speed solenoid.
17. Connect the vacuum hose for the EGR valve.
18. Install the clamp and hose to the air rail.
19. Install the two top bolts with the manifold bracket.

Do not tighten the bolts.
20. Raise the vehicle on a lift.
21. Install and tighten the two bottom bolts on the manifold bracket.
22. Lower the vehicle.
23. Tighten the two top bolts on the manifold bracket.
24. Install the two bolts and bracket to the plenum tank.
25. Install the cruise control vacuum hose to the plenum chamber.
26. Connect the two coolant hoses to the throttle body.
27. Connect the EGR solenoid electrical connector.
28. Install the vacuum hose from the intake manifold to the vacuum pipe.
29. Connect the throttle position sensor electrical connector.
