3. Install the oil seal into the rear cover, using a special tool or a press as shown in diagram to the right.
4. Install the rear cover.
5. Install the rear cover bolts and tighten.
6. Remove the sealant from the flywheel bolts and the bolt holes in the crankshaft.
Notice: If all of the previous sealant cannot be removed from a bolt, then replace the bolt.
Notice: Do not apply sealant to a new bolt.
7. Apply silicone sealant to the flywheel bolts.
8. Set the flywheel onto the crankshaft.
9. Install the flywheel bolts.
10. Hold the flywheel with the SST (or equivalent).
11. Tighten the bolts in two or three steps.
Tightening torque:
1st step: 25 - 30 ft. lbs. (34 - 41 Nm)
2nd step: 55 - 60 ft. lbs. (75 - 81 Nm)
3rd step: 73 ft. lbs. (99.5 Nm)
12. Install the clutch disc and clutch cover.
13. Install the six clutch cover bolts and tighten.
Tighten the bolts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
14. Install the transmission.
15. Connect the negative battery cable.
16. Start the engine and perform any engine adjustments necessary.
