Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair
Warm-Up Catalytic Converter
Removal
1. Remove five bolts attaching insulator and remove insulator.
2. Remove five nuts that attach warm-up three-way catalytic converter to exhaust manifold.
3. Remove three nuts that attach warm-up three-way catalytic converter to pipe and catalytic converter assembly.
4. Remove warm-up three-way catalytic converter.
5. Remove two gaskets.
Installation
1. Clean mating surface as required.
2. Install new gaskets.
3. Position warm-up three-way catalytic converter for installation.
4. Tighten three nuts that attach warm-up three-way catalytic converter to pipe and catalytic converter assembly.
Tighten the three nuts to 27.4 - 38.3 ft. lbs. (37.2 - 51.9 Nm)
5. Tighten five nuts that attach warm-up TWC converter to exhaust manifold.
Tighten the five nuts to 27.4 - 38.31 ft. lbs. (37.2 - 51.9 Nm)
6. Tighten five bolts at insulator.
Tighten the five nuts to 5.8 - 8.0 ft. lbs. (7.8 - 10.8 Nm)
