Radiator Hose: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Remove under cover.
Caution: Never open the radiator cap when the engine is hot Removing the radiator cap from a hot engine could result in a serious burn. Wrap a
thick cloth around the radiator cap when removing it.
2. Remove the radiator cap.
3. Open the drain cock.
4. Drain the system into an appropriate container.
5. Loosen the hose clamps at either end and remove the hose.
If the hose is; to be replaced, removal is often easier if the hose is cut in the middle.
6. Remove and retain hose clamps.
Installation
1. Install a new hose in reverse order of removal.
2. Refill the coolant.
3. Start the engine.
4. Add additional coolant as required as the engine comes to operating temperature.
5. Replace the radiator coolant.
6. Inspect and test for leaks.
