Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection

Inspection
1. Remove the injectors with the fuel rail.
WARNING: THE OPERATION IN THIS SECTION WILL RESULT IN FUEL AND FUEL VAPOR BEING PRESENT IN THE
ATMOSPHERE. SEE WARNING AT BEGINNING OF FUEL SECTION.
2. Connect the fuel inlet and return line to the fuel distribution pipe.
3. Connect the data link connector with a jumper wire.
4. Turn the ignition switch on for 10 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the jumper wire.
6. Fuel should not leak as the fuel rail is tilted to approximately a 60-degree angle.
7. If fuel leaks, replace the injector.
