Wheel Hub (Locking): Testing and Inspection
Free Wheel Hub - Vacuum Inspection
Check if 4WD signal turns on when the shift lever is moved into 4WD position.
1. Check for any wear or damage to vacuum pipe, tube or hose and for any looseness of the clip, clamp or band.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from knuckle and then apply 550 mm Hg vacuum to knuckle vacuum pipe.
Check to see if vacuum holds with a minimum of 500 mm Hg after one minute.
3. If vacuum does not hold with a minimum of 500 mm Hg, then check the sealant.
If sealant is normal, replace free wheel hub body assembly.
