Valve Body: Description and Operation
Valve Body
The valve body is located in the transmission oil pan. All transmission fluid is routed or trapped by valves or check balls within the valve body itself.
The valves control fluid pressure and are connected to each other through fluid passages The oil strainer, located between the fluid in the oil pan and
oil pump, filters the transmission fluid. This filtration prevents contamination, which contributes to sticking valves.
