3. Inspect for runout as follows

a. With flywheel attached to engine, mount dial indicator with gauge plunger touching flywheel clutch contact surface. Turn engine by hand and

record maximum reading
Runout maximum: 0.008 inch (0.2 mm) 

b. If the runout exceeds specification, repair by resurfacing (grinding).

Maximum resurfacing depth: 0.020 inch (0.5 mm) 

Flywheel 

Installation 

Required:

Ring Gear Brake

1. Place flywheel over end of exposed engine crankshaft.
2. Insert and hand tighten eight bolts.

Tighten bolts to 73 ft. lbs. (99 Nm) 

Pilot Bearing 

Installation 

Coat bearing with lithium base grease and then install using bearing installation tool.

Clutch Disc 

Installation 

Required:

Clutch Disc Centering Tool

1. After cleaning the clutch disc and primary shaft splines, apply organic molybdenum grease.
