Trailing Arm: Description and Operation
Three trailing arms are employed to control and support the rear axle assembly. An upper arm, connected to the top of the axle and insulated from it
with rubber bushings, plus two lower arms, also insulated with rubber bushings, locate the rear axle from front to rear. These trailing arms allow the
axle to move vertically. In addition, they prevent torque rotation of the axle, which would occur during vehicle acceleration and braking.
