Wheel Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Top View Of Rear Axle Housing

REMOVAL

1. Remove the harness connector.
2. Remove the sensor fixing bolt and remove the speed sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean the speed sensor attaching surface.
2. Lubricate the sensor O-ring with motor oil
3. Install the speed sensor.

Tighten the bolt to: 19.5 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

NOTE:

The sensor rotor (toothed ring) is not serviceable. If there is a problem (rotor teeth damaged, etc.) in the sensor rotor, replace the differential gear case
assembly. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
