7. Measure the valve guide inner diameter.
IN: 0.2366-0.2374 inch (6.01 to 6.03 mm).
EX: 0.2366-0.2374 inch (6.01 to 6.03 mm).
8. If not within specifications, replace the valve guide.
9. Measure the valve stem to guide clearance by subtracting the outer diameter of the valve stem from the inner diameter of the corresponding valve
guide. Clearance
IN: 0.0010-0.0024 inch (0.025 to 0.060 mm).
EX: 0.0012-0.0026 inch (0.030 to 0.065 mm).
Maximum: 0.0079 inch (0.20 mm)
10. If the clearance exceeds the maximum, replace the valve and/or valve guide.
11. Check the valve guide projection height (dimension A in the figure).
Height: 0.449-0.469 inch (11.4 to 11.9 mm).
