Engine Oil Pressure: Testing and Inspection
Required SST: Oil Pressure Gauge: OK670 140 015
1. Remove the screw from the oil pressure switch to disconnect the oil pressure sending wire.
2. Remove the oil pressure switch.
3. Screw the oil pressure gauge into the oil pressure switch installation hole.
4. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
5. Run the engine at 3,000 rpm, and note the gauge reading.
Oil pressure: 43-57 psi (294-392 kPa).
6. If the pressure is not as specified, check for the cause and repair if necessary.
7. Remove the oil pressure gauge from the oil pressure switch installation hole.
8. Install the engine oil pressure switch.
9. Install the screw to the oil pressure switch to reconnect the oil pressure sending wire and tighten.
