Fuel Gauge: Description and Operation
Battery voltage is supplied to the instrument panel indicator lights and gauges from the "METER" fuse when the Ignition is in "ON" or "START."
The movement of the fuel gauge's pointer is controlled by the magnetic field of two internally located coils. The sender in the fuel tank is in series with
just one coil in the gauge, which causes the alignment of the magnetic field to vary as the resistance of the sender varies. This change in alignment results
in movement of the pointer. A low sender resistance equates to a full gauge indication, and vice versa.
