3. Disconnect pressure hose from damping pipe.
4. Disconnect pressure hose from power steering pump by removing nut.
5. Disconnect suction hose No. 1 from power: steering pump.
6. Remove one bolt attaching pipe assembly No. 4 to chassis crossmember.
7. Remove one bolt attaching clamp to vertical chassis member.
8. Disconnect damping pipe from top of steering gear.
9. Disconnect suction hose No. 2 from pipe assembly No. 1 and from reserve tank; remove suction hose No. 2.
10. Remove damping pipe and pipe assembly No. 2 from vehicle together (held together by the clamp).
11. Disconnect return hose No. 1 from pipe assembly No. 4 and from reserve tank; remove return hose No. 1 from vehicle.
12. Remove pipe assembly No. 4 from steering gear.
INSTALLATION
1. Position pipe assembly No. 1 and damping pipe (held together by the clamp) on chassis and install one bolt at bottom and one bolt at side.
Tighten bolts to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
2. Connect suction hose No. 1 to pipe assembly No. 1 and to the power steering pump inlet (suction) port with clamp at each end.
3. Connect pressure hose to damping pipe and install bolt attaching hose to chassis.
Tighten flare fitting to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
4. Connect pressure hose to power steering pump with nut.
Tighten nut to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).
5. Install pipe assembly No. 4 in top of steering gear.
Tighten to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm).
6. Connect return hose No. 1 to pipe assembly No. 4 (steering gear) and return port of reserve tank with clamp at each end.
7. Connect suction hose No. 2 to outlet port of reserve tank and pipe assembly No. 2 with clamp at each end.
NOTICE: Do not operate engine before adding power steering fluid as required to fill the system. Operation of the power steering pump with
inadequate power steering fluid will result in damage to the power steering pump.
8. Bleed air from the system.
9. Install under cover with four bolts.
Tighten bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
