EGR Solenoid Valve: Testing and Inspection
EGR Solenoid Valve
Inspection
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the right side of the EGR solenoid valve and remove it.
2. Blow into the solenoid valve and verity that air does not flow through the valve.
3. Disconnect the EGR solenoid valve connector.
4. Apply battery voltage to EGR solenoid valve terminal 2 and ground to EGR solenoid valve terminal 1.
5. Blow into the solenoid valve and verify that air flows through the valve.
6. If no air flows, replace the valve assembly.
7. Reinstall the valve connector.
8. If the EGR solenoid valve functions properly, reconnect the vacuum hoses.
