Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose: Service and Repair
Air Funnel
Removal
1. Loosen the clamps on the air intake hose.
2. Remove the intake hose between the mass air flow sensor and the air funnel.
3. Remove the four smaller hoses joining the air funnel.
4. Remove the two mounting bolts for the air funnel.
5. Loosen the clamp at the intake elbow and remove the air funnel.
Installation
1. Position the air funnel and install the two mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts.
2. Tighten the clamps at the intake elbow.
3. Install the four hoses joining the air funnel.
4. Install the air intake hose.
5. Tighten the two clamps for the air intake hose.
Air Intake Hose
Removal
1. Remove the clamps from the air funnel and mass air flow sensor ends of the air intake hose.
2. Remove the air intake hose.
Installation
1. Position the air intake hose between the mass air flow sensor and the air funnel.
2. Install and tighten the clamps at each end of the hose.
Air Intake Duct
Removal
1. Loosen the clamps at the mass air flow sensor and the air cleaner housing ends of the air intake duct.
2. Remove the two mounting bolts for the air flow sensor.
3. Remove the clamps and air intake duct.
Installation
1. Position the clamps on each end of the air intake duct.
2. Place the air intake duct between the air cleaner housing and the mass air flow sensor.
3. Slide the air intake duct over the lip on the mass air flow sensor and tighten the clamp.
4. Slide the air intake duct over the lip on the air cleaner housing and tighten the clamp.
5. Replace the two mass air flow sensor retaining bolts.
Fresh Air Duct
Removal
1. Remove the two bolts at the front of the fresh air duct.
2. Loosen the clamp between the air duct and the air cleaner housing.
Installation
1. Position the fresh air duct onto the air cleaner housing inlet.
Be sure the clamp is on the duct.
2. Install the two mounting bolts at the front sides of the air duct.
3. Tighten the clamp on the duct at the air cleaner housing.
