Remove two (2) bolts attaching rear engine hanger bracket to surge tank, and two (2) nuts and two (2) bolts attaching surge tank to cylinder head
support bracket. (Note position of front and rear wire harness brackets for correct reinstallation.) On 1997 vehicles, EGR solenoid/bracket
assembly can be set out of way next to EGR valve.

Remove throttle body to surge tank attaching bolts/nuts. Leave coolant hoses and throttle cables attached to throttle body.

Remove surge tank to intake manifold bolts/nuts, then lift and remove surge tank while at the same time separating it from throttle body. Discard
gaskets.
* NOTICE
Cover intake manifold to prevent anything from falling into engine.
13.
Cut wire tie from fuel rail between # 3 and # 4 injectors.
14.
Reach down to C123 & C124 and separate the connector halves.
