Steering Wheel: Testing and Inspection
Steering Wheel Play Check
1. Place the front wheels in the straight-ahead position.
2. Turn the steering wheel left until resistance is felt. Make note of the position of the steering wheel.
3. Turn the steering wheel right until resistance is felt. Note the position of the steering wheel.
4. Measure the total movement of the steering wheel at the outer rim.
Play: 0.20 -1.20 inch (5 - 30 mm)
