8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the spring seat nut.
Tighten the nut to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
10. Install the front fork bolts to both halves of the front fork.
Tighten the front fork bolts to 36 ft. lbs. (48 Nm).
After installing the front shock absorber and coil spring assembly, measure the wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
Overhaul
DISASSEMBLY
1. Secure the bottom bracket of the shock absorber in a suitable vise.
2. Loosen the piston rod nut several turns.
NOTICE:
-
Use copperplate in the jaws of the vice to protect the shock absorber bottom bracket.

Do not remove the piston rod nut until coil spring is compressed and secured.
3. While still secured in a vise, compress the coil spring with a standard coil spring compressor.
