Sportage EX 2WD L4-2.0L (1997)
1. Measure the clearance between the retaining ring and the retainer plate with a feeler gauge.
Standard clearance: 0.014 - 0.075 inch (0.35 - 1.91 mm)
If the clearance is not within specification, replace the clutch discs or retainer plate.
2. Remove the retaining ring, retainer plate, clutch discs, clutch plates and cushion brake plate in that order. Then remove the planetary ring gear,
thrust bearing races, thrust bearing, and thrust washer.
3. Remove the retaining ring, retainer and piston return springs.
