NOTICE: Install the cushion plate as shown, dish (concave) side up.
6. Measure the clearance between the retaining ring and the retainer plate.
Standard clearance: 0.014-0.075 inch (0.35-1.91 mm)
NOTICE:

If the measurement is in excess of the standard clearance, install new clutch discs and/or plates.

If the measurement is smaller than standard, parts may have been assembled incorrectly, or there may be excessive ATF on the discs.
Disassemble, re-inspect, correct any problems, and re-assemble. Re-check the clearance.
