Throttle Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTION (Operation)
1. Verify that the starter operates with the ignition switch in the START position and the selector lever in P and N ranges only.
2. Verify that the back-up lights illuminate when shifted to R range with the ignition switch in the ON position.
3. Inspect the transmission range switch as follows if it does not operate as specified.
INSPECTION (Continuity)
1. Disconnect the transmission range switch connector.
2. Check the continuity between the transmission range terminals as shown.
3. If continuity is not correct, replace the switch and adjust it.
ADJUSTMENT
1. Loosen the transmission range switch attaching bolt.
2. Shift the gear selector lever to the N range.
3. Align the groove and the neutral base line, as shown.
4. Tighten the attaching bolt.
Tightening torque: 34.8-61.2 inch lbs. (3.9 - 6.9 Nm)
