5. Remove the outer plate bolt, plate and gasket.
6. With the 2-3 shift valve plug held in place, remove the valve retainer with a magnet then remove the shift valve plug, 2-3 shift valve and shift

valve spring.

INSPECTION

1. The coil outer diameter and free length of each valve spring should be as listed in the chart.

NOTICE:  If valve spring measurements are not as specified, replace the valve spring
