Flywheel: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
Required:

Ring Gear Brake
NOTICE: Flywheel is heavy and if not supported will fall from vehicle when all the mounting bolts are removed.
With ring gear brake in place, remove eight flywheel bolts.
INSPECTION
1. Examine for surface cracks, scoring, or discoloration of the clutch contact surface. Minor surface marring can be repaired with emery paper.
Otherwise, flywheel must be machine resurfaced or replaced.
