It has come to our attention that in extremely cold ambient temperatures, the 5 amp auxiliary heater fuse may blow. This pertains to models equipped
with the passenger side auxiliary heater (underneath passenger seat).
Normal current draw of the motor is 3.7-3.8 amps. At temperatures below -13 deg.F (-25 deg.C) the draw can exceed 5 amps on spin up, causing the fuse
to blow.
Defender Electrical Engineering have approved the use of a 7.5 amp fuse in place of the 5 amp fuse to address this condition.
ACTION REQUIRED
Upon customer complaint of periodic fuse failure follow procedure below.
