Clarion CD Changer Cleaning and Eject Procedure

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
RANGE ROVER (LP)

All equipped with Clarion CD Changer

DEFENDER (LD)

SITUATION:

CD PLAYER WILL NOT EJECT MAGAZINE/POOR SOUND QUALITY

In some cases the CD changer will not eject the magazine. A dirty optical lens will adversely affect the sound quality.

RESOLUTION:

MANUALLY EJECT MAGAZINE AND CLEAN GUIDE ROLLERS

In order to resolve the customer concern, use the procedure detailed below to manually eject the magazine and clean guide rollers. As an aid to
diagnosis, included is a chart of the current error codes.

WARNING:

Do not use a cleaning disc in attempt to clean the changer. The manufacturer has found that a cleaning disc will actually take grease from the guide
shaft on the mechanism and brush it over the optical lens causing permanent damage.
