DETAIL

1997 Defender 90 Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor engine harnesses were specified for gold plated harness connector pins. Some early 1997 model year
vehicles were not built to this specification. Vehicles within the VIN range above have incorrectly coated connector pins. To ensure that vehicles receive
the correct gold plated connections, a harness modification kit is available for installation onto the affected vehicles.

NOTE:

The correct use of the kit requires the connectors be CRIMPED AND SOLDERED. See the procedure steps for full details.

ACTION REQUIRED

At the earliest opportunity (Pre-Delivery Inspection, warranty repair work or regular service interval) follow the procedure below to install the new Mass
Air Flow (MAF) sensor harness connector.
