Idle Air Control Valve: Service and Repair

*** FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION NOT INCLUDED HERE, REFER TO TSB # TEC190396, DATED MARCH 22, 1996 *** 

NOTE:  If same idle air control valve is being refitted, clean sealing compounds from threads. Apply Loctite(r) 241, or equivalent, to threads of valve
before reassembly.

Idle Air Control Valve

REMOVE

1. Disconnect the battery negative lead.
2. Disconnect multi-plug.
3. Unscrew valve from rear plenum chamber.
4. Remove washer.

REFIT

1. Fit NEW sealing washer.
2. Fit valve to plenum and tighten to 

20 Nm (15 ft lb).

3. Refit multi-plug.
4. Re-connect battery cable.
