Some 1994-95 Discovery Models are experiencing difficulty in starting because of poor terminal connections at the ignition coil. Replacing the spade
type terminals with ring connectors resolves the problem. The following procedure outlines the steps necessary to change the terminals.

ACTION REQUIRED
Replacement of the spade terminals with ring connectors.
PARTS INFORMATION
YPG 10002 - Ring connector (qty.5)
Locally sourced materials:

Heat shrink sleeving 6 mm diameter 100 mm (4 in)

Cable ties (as required) Crimping tool - Wurth 558-13
PROCEDURE
1.
Make sure the radio code is available. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION:
Work on one side of the coil at a time to avoid confusion.
2.
Cut the existing wires from the terminals on the coil as close to the terminal as possible.
3.
Strip approximately 7 mm (1/4 in.) of insulation from the wires.
4.
Slide approximately 20 mm (3/4 in.) of heat shrink sleeving onto each wire.
