SUBJECT
(SRS) Air Bag Harness - Sensors
DETAIL
To protect the electrical integrity of the SRS wiring harness the sensor connections are protected against water and dirt ingress.
If the (SRS) harness is disconnected from the crash sensor there is a possibility that the anti-backout harness plug seal may remain in the crash sensor
wiring socket. This is caused by the seal which produces a vacuum effect when the plug is disconnected from the sensor.
Prior to re-connecting the harness plug to the crash sensor it is important that the harness plug is inspected to ensure that the seal and anti-backout are
present.
ACTION REQUIRED
For information only: When the SRS harness is connected to the crash sensor ensure that the seal and anti-backout is present in the harness plug.
