Remove the two spring retaining clips and discard.

Visually inspect the electrical wiring connections on the number plate lamp housing harness for evidence of corrosion to the wiring or connectors.

Clean or repair electrical connections as necessary.

7.

Clean the number plate housing assembly to remove any corrosion deposits.

8.

Drill a 6 mm (1/4 in) drain hole in the underside of the handle assembly to allow further water to drain. (Figure 1)

9.

Install the new lamp into the left-hand door handle lamp location.

10.

Refer to GTR Workshop Manual Section 86.40.98 and install the door handle assembly into the tailgate.
