Oil Filter Adapter Joint Leak

SITUATION:

OIL FILTER ADAPTER LEAK

Poor surface finishing during manufacture of the oil filter head adapter sealing face results in an uneven surface which does not completely seal against
the engine block during assembly.

RESOLUTION:

DETERMINE LEAK PATH AND REPLACE ADAPTER

Upon customer complaint of an oil leak from the oil filter area, determine that the leak is from the adapter joint area. Replace leaking adapter with a new
part manufactured to improved surface tolerances.

PARTS INFORMATION:

DDW WARRANTY CLAIMS:

DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply. 
Material allowance is included in labor operation.
