Incorrect A/C Refrigerant Label

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Discovery Series II (LT)

SITUATION:

INCORRECT AIR CONDITIONING CHARGE WEIGHT ON THE A/C LABEL

For 2003 and up Model Year vehicles with rear Air Conditioning the English measure in ounces is incorrect on under-hood A/C labels placed on
vehicles within the above VIN range. The metric measure is correct at 780 grams.

RESOLUTION:

USE METRIC MEASUREMENT IN GRAMS TO ENSURE PROPER CHARGE

The figure stated for vehicles with rear A/C in grams on the under hood A/C label is correct. When recharging the A/C system it is best to utilize the
gram measurement. If using the ounce value, the correct figure for the system charge is 27oz (+/- 1). The "32oz" figure on the label is INCORRECT.

NOTE:

The information currently on RAVE/GTR does not reflect the new capacity figures in this TIB. Additionally only Metric values are contained in the
Workshop Manual.

If the system is charged to the higher (32 oz) value quoted on the label, premature high pressure cutout of the A/C will be experienced on a vehicle
operating in very high ambient temperatures.
