*VERIFY THAT VEHICLE VIN MATCHES RECALL PARAMETERS*
INSTALL UPDATED ECM TUNE
1.
After verification that correct engine configuration is stated in the VIN, connect T4 to the vehicle.
2.
Insert the "Archive 22" diagnostic CD.
NOTE:
The battery must be capable of maintaining a full charge during this process which is expected to take 15-18 minutes total.
3.
Verify the battery is fully charged (12.6 V or greater).
4.
Connect a battery charger set on a low amp current charge to maintain battery state during this process.
5.
Using T4, observe all of the on-screen instructions presented and perform the following steps:
^
On the T4 Main Menu select * "Diagnostic System 6"*.
^
Select "Diagnostic System".
^
Select "Discovery II" and the correct "Model Year" for the vehicle being programmed.
^
Select "Petrol EMS".
^
Select "Vehicle Maintenance".
^
Select "ECM Checks and Renewals".
NOTE:
On the two following screens you must follow the instructions exactly to enable T4 to program the ECM without having to restart this process
from the beginning.
^
At the screen indicating a "Compulsory Update" is required, respond "NO" to the question about hardware replacement.
NOTE:
On the next screen T4 will state the misleading message "NO FIXES AVAILABLE". Selecting "Continue" on this screen will advance the tune
update procedure.
^
Select "Continue" at the "NO FIXES AVAILABLE" prompt.
^
* If a vehicle has been incorrectly identified as being part of this Campaign and was not eliminated by a careful VIN check, a
"PROGRAMMING NOT REQUIRED" screen will appear. Vehicles displaying this screen are not LEV or ULEV specification vehicles.
^
If the "PROGRAMMING NOT REQUIRED" screen is present, answer "NO" and exit the program attempt.*
