4.

Verify that the brake pedal is fully raised against its up-stop in the pedal rest position.

NOTE:

The aperture is keyed to avoid installing the new switch in the wrong orientation.

Install the new switch as follows: (Figure 2)

Connect the link lead to the new brake light switch.

Insert the new switch into the bracket aperture.

Position the front face of the switch against the bracket and square to the bracket.

Rotate the switch clockwise through 45 degrees until a 'click' is heard and the switch will not rotate further.

Connect the link lead electrical connector to the vehicle harness connector.

7.

Secure any excess link lead wire to the vehicle harness using a wire-tie.

8.

Return driver's seat to original position.

NOTE:

Any DTC warning lamp displayed as a result of the brake lamp switch failure will self-clear when the switch is replaced.

9.

Switch ignition 'ON'.

10.

Verify that no warning lamps are illuminated and that the replacement switch is working correctly by performing a brake light function test with
the assistance of an observer.

11.

Switch ignition 'OFF'.

12.

Close driver door.
