Valve Body: Service and Repair

CONTROL VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY

NOTE: This procedure has been update as per Land Rover technical bulletin 44/02/06/NAS

CAUTION:The clear selector lever must be in "D1" drive position before removing the valve body securing bolts.

1. Move the gear selector lever to the "D1" drive position.

2. Remove the three bolts securing the left-hand front splash shield and remove the shield.

3. Refer to the FLUID PAN See: Fluid Pan/Service and Repair and remove the fluid pan.

4. Disconnect the valve body electrical connectors. 

NOTE:Only the silver colored bolts are removed to release the valve body.

5. Remove the eleven silver colored bolts securing the valve body to the transmission.

6. Remove the valve body assembly.

7. Remove and discard both oil seals. 

8. Clean the new valve body assembly and mating faces.
