Axle Assembly (54.10.01)  

Removal  

 

 

 

 

 

 

1 . 

 

   WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the 

vehicle on safety stands.

  Raise and support the vehicle. 

2 . 

  Remove the front wheels and tires. 

3 . 

  

Remove the LH halfshaft. For additional information, refer to 

Halfshaft LH (47.10.01)

 (Section 205-

4 . 

  Remove the axle tube. For additional information, refer to 

Axle Tube (47.10.42)

 (Section 205-03)

5 . 

  Remove the front axle crossmember. 

  

Remove the 4 bolts.

 

6 . 

 

 

   CAUTION: Mark the position of the driveshaft flange in relation to the drive pinion flange.

   CAUTION: To avoid damage to the joint or gaiter, do not allow the driveshaft to hang.

Release the driveshaft from the front axle drive flange. 

  

Remove the 6 Torx bolts and washers, discard the bolts.
