Issue: 1
Date 10 Oct 06
SECTION: 412-04 - CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM
Cabin Temperature Lowers Below Setting
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
LR3 (LA)
VIN: 5A000360 to 6A411152
CONDITION SUMMARY:
CABIN TEMPERATURE LOWERS BELOW SETTING
Situation: A customer may report a concern that during long journeys, the cabin temperature drops to below the set level. The in-vehicle temperature
sensor within the heating system may be detecting additional heat from behind the fascia. To compensate for the additional heat detected, the heating
system incorrectly attempts to reduce the cabin temperature.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to insulate the sensor from the additional heat
source.
PARTS:
ETD500550..............Foam insulator

REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSTALL FOAM INSULATION TO AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
NOTE: Global Technical Reference (GTR) lookup sequence is as follows: GTR Home > NAS > Service Information/ LA - LR3/2005 > Workshop
Manuals > Bookmark "Electrical/Climate Control System/412-04: Control Components/Removal and Installation" Link "In-Vehicle Temperature Sensor
(82.20.93)"
1. Refer to GTR section 412-04 'In-Vehicle Temperature Sensor' operation 82.20.93 and remove the trim panel that covers the in-vehicle temperature
sensor.
NOTE: The installed position of the foam insulator must ensure that the air entering through the sensor grill on the trim panel is the only air
allowed to be drawn over the sensor.
