New P-Codes in Use on T4
SITUATION
New P-Codes are not currently documented outside of T4.
Freelander (LN) and Range Rover (LM) have been assigned revised P-Code designations in some areas for the 2005 Model Year. The faults codes have
been incorporated into 14 diagnostics to bring them in alignment with the revised 2005MY P-Code structures, and ECU architecture. Some of these new
P-Codes incorporate "alpha-numeric" designations such as "P240C."
Note that the new structure does not include any revisions to the SAE standardized P0xxx code structure.
However, the 2005 P-Code designations have been applied retroactively to previous Land Rover-specific codes used in earlier model years. This means
that some familiar codes, long in use for Land Rover diagnostics, have been replaced with new codes for which Land Rover currently has no
documentation or cross-reference charts.
RESOLUTION
Please use the information displayed on 14, such as freeze frame data, and the related "fault explorers" to obtain diagnostic guidance for P-Codes
currently not documented elsewhere.
