Owner Letter

March, 1989

Dear Range Rover Owner:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Land Rover U.K., Ltd., has determined that one, and possibly two defects which relate to motor vehicle safety may exist in certain 1987 and 1988 Model
Range Rover vehicles imported by Range Rover of North America, Inc. Our records show that you are the owner of an affected vehicle.

The brake pedal pivot pin is held in place by two retaining clips. If a retaining clip was not fully installed, it could come loose and the pivot pin could
shift, leaving the brake pedal supported on just one side. It is also possible that an improperly drilled brake line connector could be blocking fluid flow to
the rear brakes.

We consider the risk to motor vehicle safety to be small because the defects do not result in brake failure. However the unusual pedal movement,
resulting from a loose pivot pin, could be alarming to the driver. A blocked connector would reduce brake performance.

In order to remedy the defect, it is necessary to check the position of the retaining clips and insure that they are properly installed. At the same time, a
functional test of the rear brakes will be made. Any faulty conditions will be corrected at no charge.

This action is being taken voluntarily and Range Rover Dealers are fully aware of the program.

If your dealer does not inspect and repair your vehicle without charge and within 60 days of your first delivering the vehicle to the dealer, you may
