Speedometer Head: Service and Repair

Instrument Panel

REMOVE

1. Remove instrument panel. See: Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Service and Repair
2. Remove instrument pack. See: Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Service and Repair/Instrument Pack
3. Remove printed circuit. See: Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Instrument Panel Circuit Board/Service and Repair
4. Carefully pry the needle shroud from the element underneath the shroud.
5. Remove the two hexagonal headed screws (with washers) at the back of the instrument case which retain the speedometer.
6. Carefully remove the speedometer from the front of the instrument case.
7. To release the speedometer drive unit, remove the two self-tapping screws securing it to the back of the instrument case.

REFIT

1. Reverse the removal procedure.
