'Whistle' Noise from HVAC Recirculation Flap

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:
A 'whistle' noise from behind the instrument panel when driving at speeds above 30mph (48kph) with the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC)
in recirculation or Auto mode may be evident. This noise may be caused by air passing over the recirculation flap seals.

Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to modify the right-hand (RH) blend door.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

MODIFY RIGHT-HAND BLEND DOOR

1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 412-01: Air Distribution and Filtering, and remove the plenum chamber.
