Oil Temperature Sensor For ECM: Service and Repair

Oil Temperature Sensor

Service Repair No - 12.60.65

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

3. Remove the radiator splash shield.
4. Remove the oil temperature sensor.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Position a container to collect the fluid.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing the components, ensure the area around the joint faces and connections are clean. Plug
open connections to prevent contamination.

Installation

1. Install the oil temperature sensor.

Clean the components.

^

Tighten the oil temperature sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

^

Connect the electrical connector.

2. Install the radiator splash shield.
3. Connect the battery ground cable
4. Check and top-up the engine oil.
