Steering Column Tilt Malfunction - Repair Procedure
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE
CONDITION SUMMARY:
NOTE:
For customer concerns of steering column reach or exterior door mirror functionality, refer to GTR and IDS for further diagnosis; to be carried out as a
separate Warranty claim.
Situation:
Certain vehicles may experience one or more of the following faults:
^ Steering column does not return to the last stored tilt position when ignition is switched 'on'
^ Steering column tilt motor continues to operate after reaching maximum travel when ignition is switched 'ON' for after steering column tilt lever is
operated
^ Steering column moves to the opposite of position requested when steering column tilt lever is operated
These faults may be caused by corruption of the Memory Seat Module software or steering column tilt motor wear.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of any of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.
